Vayu is called ‘Tantra Yantra Dharah’. That is, it is like ‘Karta Karvita’. When running any system, they are important pillars of the system. Here we get more information on topic Five sections of Vata Dosha.
Whether it is a government body or a private body, everyone has a system. The head of the organization oversees the other departments. Department wise officers are appointed to carry out the work of that department. With the connivance of each other, the system runs smoothly and so does the organization.
Then when nature and body are one, something similar happens in the body from birth. In fact, it happens right from the first day of foetus.

The body is a machine. There are many systems working in the body. Vata runs all the systems. Even in nature, we can see that not even a single leaf of a tree can move without wind (Vayu). And the movement of the leaf also happens in a special way.
Why Vata is called as The Air element.?
This is called technique. Every system in the body operates with its own technique. The driver that runs this system is the Vata in the body.
Today we will look at the Vata that drives every system in the body. The Vatais divided into five parts by nature. All in all, ‘Vata’ is the only one name. But it has been divided into five sections and specific work is assigned to them.
Those five divisions are
- Prana
- Vyan
- Udan
- Apan
- Samana.
Together all these five works integrally to keep body working properly.
When all this is in order, the main part of it is the ‘Prana’, which is all over the body and stays in the place of the nerves in our head and monitors others.
The ‘vyana’stays in heart and moves throughout the body.
‘Udana’ maintains the strength of the body by staying in the place of your chest.
‘Apana’ stays in the large intestine and excretes faeces and urine. So ‘same’ helps to maintain good digestion by staying in the stomach. These five siblings have a rough job.
In short, the body’s ability to digest food, to distribute it in the body, to increase its strength by nourishing the body, to bring waste products out of the body, is a constant process of sustaining the body.
When the air is good, all the systems in the body work properly.
These five Vata sub-parts help in all the work. All these five Vata elements are dependent on each other. Their work continues in concert. So even if one is disturbed, the others also get affected. In the next article, we will take a closer look at each one.
So here we conclude topic Five sections of Vata Dosha.
