Ayurvedic Oil massage of the baby
The first of these post-natal rites is the Jatkarma Sanskar – whatever is done for the health of the baby after birth is called Jatkarma Sanskar.
Gold, ghee, honey enriched with important medicines are licked to the baby, in this ritual. Honey is a cough suppressant and gold is a disinfectant, and all this and ghee is useful for the development of the intellect, boosting the immune system, enhancing digestion.
This improves development stages of children. This is also called Suvarna Prashan Sanskar. This rite brightens the character of the child. A child who eats gold for 6 consecutive months is a shrutadhar (meaning one who remembers everything once he hears it), his memory improves in a very good way.
The most important thing about ghee is that it crosses the blood-brain barrier … and it is also good for brain development.
Suvarnaprashan should be given from birth to six months. It can also be given up to the age of 12. In our culture, gold was given as a gift after the birth of a child, the purpose behind it was Suvarna Prashan.
And in Ayurvedic method, natural vaccination was done through this ritual. Therefore, you must also start the Suvaranaprashan Sanskar for your baby from the good Ayurvedic doctor. Detailed information about Lehan rites including Suvarna Prashan will be given in the next article.
